Ethiopian Famine Leader Found Guilty of Genocide

The Ethiopian leader during the infamous famine of 1984-1985, which inspired Live Aid, has been convicted of genocide by the Ethiopian High Court. Mengistu Haile Mariam is currently escaping justice by living in Zimbabwe as a "guest" of Robert Mugabe.

Tens of thousands of intellectuals, professionals and other undesirable people to his regieme were killed between 1977-78 during a period known as the "Red Terror".

It's been a bad year for the old murderous dictators in 2006.
