First Garret now Alan say NAMA is the only game in town: Is FG split on this issue?

It seems to me, as a supporter/activist of no party, that this does not auger well for the fault lines in FG that go back to Cain and Abel.

When Dukes became a Gov appointed director of one of the banks he lost his credibility so he should have kept his opinion to himself.

Methinks youve seen a post on the PIN questioning whether or not this is a split between the right wing and social democrat wings of FG.

Its either that or Ireland is in even deeper sh!t than people imagine.

If NAMA is the solution the problems are very, very grave.

There is something else to bear in mind.... and it is VERY important.

Rejecting NAMA will remove 'asset' valuations from the hands of the Irish government.

What then would the reaction be if US and UK assets held by developers were marked to firesale prices?

What would this do to their markets - both supposedly 'bottoming out' at the moment?

Have FG and the govt been pressured by foreign govts into forcing NAMA through so that valuations are kept out of the market and in the hands of friendly govt?

More to this than meets the eye, people....

FG defined in National politics, by it's obsession with the Civil war, and internally by a left/right split. Any chance they would smell the coffee, and get their act together.
