    Avril Doyle's election intentions

Coudl it just be me but hasn't Avril been boosting her profile at home quite a bit in the last week or so?

I mean MEPs have a hard enough job as it is reminding people they exist at all (I mean who did FF elect in NW and East again?), but she's had a fair strong ould burst of news attention in a short space of time. She's not thinking of coming back, is she?
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.

The people have rejected her twice; lets hope they’re third time lucky!

how has she been boosting her profile?
she's been on the week in politics, and part of a fianna fail generated whinge about european parliament conspiracies against bertie.

hardly an explosion of interest in the dail on her part?

and anyway she's said a trillion times that after the 2002 fiasco shed never run again. there isnt an opening for her anyway nor is there a need. the 3 wexford candidates are on corse to get 2 seats

By your logic, the people have also rejected Liam Aylward, Eoin Ryan, Brian Crowley and Sean O'Neachtain. Anyway the FG ticket in Wexford is strong and well-balanced, so there's no way she'll be running - she was only dragged back out of desperation in 2002 when Yates wouldn't run.

in the european elections in 1999 she got 51% of all wexford votes. in 2004 she got 46%

the reason she was "rejected" in 2002 was because she didnt want to run and didnt mout a decent campaign. you must be too young to remember

well now that you bring it up i was speaking to someone last night who thought that liam twomey had gotten a lot of publicity lately

his attack on harney in the dail yesterday was the top story on today fm and newstalk most of yesterday evening, he was on the news at one last week with a long debate against harney where he seemed to do most of the talking and he has been on morning ireland and mary wilson several times over the last fortnight

I'd imagine quite a few people here and elsewhere would be hoping that Avril - if she runs - will not only be elected, but also, at the very least be appointed a junior minister (and allocated a driver).
