    Creighton is against construction jobs.

Lucinda Crieghton has already decided to join the wealthy NIMBY objectors in Ballsbridge to object to Sean Dunnes audacious plans to plough ahead wiith a development plan in the current recession.
The artist's impression show quite a decent looking development opposite the main entrance to the RDS.
Frankly parts of the RDS facility look quite decrepit so this development could'nt look worse than parts of the RDS.

FG need to put Creighton in her place quickly if they are to have any credibility as a party who can play a positive part in tackling this recession.
Will the party put the national good ahead of Nimbyism or will that section of society which has done so well out of the boom be allowed to continue to keep Ballsbridge as a development free enclave ?

By the OP's logic then Sean Dunne must also be against construction jobs. He has objected to a whole series of projects by rival developers and succeeded in having a large multi-million euro project in Spencer Dock stop in its tracks mid-way through building!

You may very well be right about Dunne but he is a private citizen who may act as selfishily as he pleases. Creightom however is a Td who belongs to a party which declares itself to be the best qualified to lead us out of recession.

Have it one way or have it the other !

She is supporting a small sector of her constituents. I dare say one or two tax exiles may even have houses in or close to this proposed development who will be egging her on.
This is a test for Enda Kenny.
Will he show himself to be a potential leader or just a teacher/politician who has been promoted beyond his level of competence.

So would you prefer we just tarmac the whole country over and be done with it?

Well, unlike certain other politicans from certain other parties, she's actually taking her constituents views seriously and clearly isn't being bought-off by big developers.

Also, shouldn't this kind of high-rise development be kept in the high-rise development area where it will actually look good i.e. the docklands ?

well I dont know the break down, but I wouldnt imagine many construction workers live in her constituency.
And all she can do is represent her constituents, if the majority of her constituents dont like whats shes doing, they will let hert know at the ballot box.....
