What would you ask George Lee?

George Lee Townhall Meeting, Tuesday June 2nd 2009

Fine Gael Dublin South Bye-Election Candidate, George Lee, will this evening (Tuesday) hold a townhall meeting in the Knocklyon Community Centre at 8.00 pm.

George is the only candidate in the constituency to hold townhall meetings, taking questions and answers from anybody who wishes to attend and tonight’s event follows on from a hugely successful meeting in the Goat.

The golden circle has been named.

Will Marc Coleman come along again and start whining, I wonder?

He was at it again on Sunday in the Sindo. Nobody cares what you think Marc, nobody wants you to run for the Dail, few people are interested in your book, and everyoner chortles at your title as Newstalk chief economist.

You may as well be Sunday World chief economist.

Mr. Lee: your campaign seems to have the momentum of a runaway freight train. Why are you so popular?
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

As an aside, the diamond posters beloved of every candidate towards the end of each campaign are up for GLee.
They are exhorting people to vote for George.
Not Lee. Not George Lee. Just George. First name recognition must be huge.

What are your plans if you don't win the by-election?

That's actually a font issue. George's surname is too short. You can see it in the by-election posters, the usual ones, as well where they've had to stretch the spacing and bump up point size. It wouldn't work on the diamond ones so they went with GEORGE.

Having said that, they wouldn't get away with it with most other candidates.

We do like our first names though: Charlie, Garret, Albert, Bertie, Enda....

    George,

Are you related to Sammy Lee? do you agree he has failed as a football manager?

Are you related to Harper Lee? Did you ever kill a mocking bird?

Do you or did you ever own Lee Jeans.. can't really compare to Levis can they?

Was Albert Lee really better than BB King?

Do you have unlimited fishing rights on the River Lee?

What will be the most used headline upon your election:

    By George.. Lee's done it!

    or

    Glee over Lee's election!

    Yours sincerely

    A Serious Politico

PS. you don't really rate Enda do you?

Mr. Lee, do you think Fine Gael can retain three seats in Dublin South at the next general election?
