2. Leave FG, stay in the dail as an indo (and maybe do a deal with BIFFO), or at least help bring down the government.
3. Leave FG, and start your own party (come on, man, this was a no-brainer).
4. Resign FG & dail, return to RTE like a beaten dog...where you'll do farm reports...

Had he done 2 and joined with FF then he would have been a Junior minister with 6 months and pretty much guaranteed a seat in DS while destroying FG in the process.
