If the European Union was seriously concerned with democratic principles, would it have asked Valery Giscard d'Estaing to draw up a constitution for it. That's a good question, another question is if Fine Gael was elected in to Government and fulfilled their promise to ban the US military out of Shannon, would that be an advantage that the IDA could use, in attracting US companies that supply the US military with products and services, to locate their foreign operations in Ireland?
