    FG & age of consent

Where do FG stand on the age of consent?

In todays papers FG and Enda Kenny was quoted as being opposed to bring down the age of consent to 16 for females?

    Why?

It's 17, the proposal is to bring it down to 16 for everyone regardless of gender or sexuality.

It is 16 for boys and 17 for girls.

McDowell wanted to bring it down to 14 for both; Kenny wanted to bring it up to 17 for both. I think they've landed at 16 as a compromise.
