In ather live in another universe, (not being blasmufmus) but george lee could and would've been hailed as the messiah. up ya boy ya! p.s i want a job! this is what my life has come to under the FF led government. coming onto these kinda sites and talikng crap during the middle of the day when i shopuld be working in a job! this is FF's Ireland people. this is whAT We've amounted to. Fianna Fail should be made a criminAL organisation like those gangs in Limerick or the IRA for the damage they are causing society. bring back the old days were FGers used to beat up FF canvassers cause that is what a FF deserves in this day and age. the last govrnt as bad as the current FF government was that of the black and tans and the cromwellian area in my opinion!

If he is elected and FG/Lab win the next election, Lee becomes Minister for Trade, Enterprise and Employment, What would he advocate cutting spending? or some sort of stimulus?

I ask this because he has never said anything about this subject and seeing as FG and Labour have different views on this area.
Nope he is certainly not the next JM Keynes. Keynes was an advoacte of demand side state intervention to get out of recession, Lee's plan(which has been discussed on this site and which shows that he has alreday uttered policy points about what he would do iof in government) contrary to statements issued above by you. The policies he has revelaed so far indicate that he is a supply side advoacte. That should answer ur question

To actually suggest, as you do, that Lee has a media profile "as opposed to actual ability", just beggars belief.

So you agree his analysis has been better than anyone else's. But does it now have to be "flawless"? If so, why? Is Alex White flawless? Is Shay Brennan flawless? Is Brian Lenihan flawless? Why are you setting a required standard for Lee that's way in excess of anyone else? Lee is standing for election, not being imposed on you. If he's elected, its because the voters view him as the best candidate - not as the perfect one.

But as you say, none of what he said was untrue. And as another poster said - if FF f*cked up the economy, is it partisan to say that FF f*cked up the economy?

Again, if you disagree with what he said, that would hold more weight than disagreeing with an alleged motivation for saying it.

I'm certainly not suggesting RTE is pro FG, , , , I am simply suggesting that non partisan political coverage is essential & and potential '''corruption''' of this should be strongly opposed.

In what way is Lee a celebrity? Has anyone ever taken the slightest interest in anything about him other than what he does as a professional? Do we see him in VIP magazine? Does he get snapped at sports events?

To be honest, you're grasping at straws now. Lee built his reputation on the basis of being excellent at what he does. Had RTE sacked him for daring to have a political thought of his own any time in the last few years, he'd have been snapped up by TV3, Newstalk, or one of the papers. And his candidacy for FG would still be just as much of a coup for that party.
Well, from above it would seem that HBAP is going to be gutted today - had great faith in Lee's ability and reputation.
