Its not a matter of belief, its fact!!!

Many within Fine Gael are taking the high moral ground on the economy at the moment. When in fact they would have taken roughly the same decisions with the same advice to hand from the same advisers.

Don't allow yourself to be confused into believing otherwise just because it suits you. There were a good few Fine Gael people before the tribunals as well you know. So don't try to pretend that your party is full of honest men who've taken vow's of poverty as their only interest is service to the nation. All humans are corruptable, not just the ones who are members of Fianna Fail.

i hear some mention of the greens going into coaltion after the next election with fine gael

two problems i see with this , 1st of all the greens may not have any seats after the next election ( green voters are a flaky bunch and alot of them cant stand the smell anymore ) and 2ndly , the greens would be shaky regarding the reforming the wellfare state

And don't start posting any ridiculous tripe about how things would be different if Fine Gael were in power, just take a good look are your economic policies for the '07 General Election!!!
yeah, Bertie showed how he cared when he was going around the city with suitcases of money and leaving his women to swing in the wind with F.F. backing him all thw way. Then when the heat got too much they kicked him out.

    .
You have not been listening to Richard Bruton since 2000. The only defence FF have of their record is to spin the story that "they're all the same". FF went to the people in 2007 with the claim that they were best able to take care of the economy. The people decided that then was not the time to take a chance on an unproven team. The next election will be a choice between more of the same or change, again the people will choose, but I doubt they will swallow the line that they're all the same.
If engineers were wrong as often as economists, would anyone fly aeroplanes?

Bruton's strength is his consistency on the need for public service reform. FG's detailed policies are different to what they offered in 2007 but the country's circumstances have changed slightly. FF have been consistently late in recognising the mess they made and they are totally reliant on the same advisors who told us the economy and banks were sound. Competance?
