    Oops.... (FG slip up again)

"Ireland has a long road to travel before we achieve Restorative Justice, said Fine Gael candidate for Rathmines Edith Wynne today (Saturday) at the annual Fine Gael Ard Fheis in Citywest."

She said this "today (Saturday)"? That's interesting, given that it's just gone midnight. Should it say today (Friday) or did they get their release out too early?

You know very well that press releases are issued in advance and them embargoed until a set time or date. All that happened there is that someone in the media, as happens, usually by accident, didn't notice that it had the word 'embargoed till . . . ' at the top of the press release and published it.

    Talk about silly threads.

Remember the unfortunate Roise Barnes, the Social Democratic Party MP for Greenwich? In her maiden speech she went "off script" and warbled on about how happy she was to have the GMT meridian run through her constituency. "You can have one foot in the each of the northern and southern hemispheres", was her unfortunate shocker!
