What type of Taoiseach would Enda be?

It is very likely barring a change of leadership in Fine Geal that Enda may be the next Taoiseach. Much has been articulated here on P.ie suggesting that Enda is not of suitable calibre for the post of Taoiseach.

Is the role of Taoiseach something Enda could grow into and in fact become a very good Taoiseach or might he do a Cowen on it and be a complete disaster? Constructive comments please!!!!!!!!

i'd imagine he'd do quite well, we've seen the alternative (clowen) and frankly enda looks like a much better prospect.

    Yes We Can!!!!

(complete aside, but did anyone else see Star Wars (a new hope) the other evening and think enda looked like luke skywalker and cowen like jabba the hut?)

I think enda would do well, he totally rebuilt a shattered party and united it (very much like bertie did with FF) he is very good on the ground with the common man and woman (bit like Bertie) loves his GAA and sport (bertie again) has never lost his dail seat( neither did the bert) Family steeped in politics (sound familiar) and when bertie was in oppostion nobody took him seriously either until he got the top job. I think the office makes the man and Enda is a good team captain and has a good front bench. He is ten times better for the job then Cowen who has proven that he is not up to the challenge despite all the talk up.

Probably more work ethic, less fanfare and less blowing of his own trumpet than his predecessor.

    A welcome change.

I would imagine a cross between John Bruton and Sean Lemass.

I hope he would be more his own man than trying to emulate a predecessor. If he could instill the kind of work ethic which he himself has, all would be good.

In a similar fantasy world I'm wondering how Stephen Hawking would do on "Strictly Come Dancing".
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

Sharp exchanges in the Dáil this afternoon, as the Fine Gael Leader Enda Kenny accused Taoiseach Brian Cowen of being a large slug-like alien crimelord.

FG health spokesman Dr. James Reilly (extreme left) criticised the construction of co-located hospitals on the Hutt homeworld

    Are you joking ?

That press conference where he puffed up his chest & announced that he had a great idea for easing the financial crisis - personally taking a 5% pay cut - summed him up.

Mr Soundbite, No brain, No ideas. The reason FF have remained in power so long.

Wow. FF were claiming that they had magic beans and were responsible for everything that has happened in ireland to date.

The thread is about what kind of leader Enda would be. He will be quite diplomatic, and not bullish.
