You may not respect him but then as a dedicated promoter of the FF cause, despite your recent pretense at being disillusioned with them, it's most unlikely you would find any merit in a leader of FG. The fact that he has been returned many times as the a public representative for Mayo and members of his own party selected him as their political leader shows he does command the respect of many.
If becoming more Taoiseach-like means being more like Cowen, Ahern or Reynolds, spare us!

The only way Kenny can become Taoiseach like is by being elected Taoiseach - until he's in the job you can't say how he will perform. Brian Cowen was thought to be the greatest asset FF had - then he became Taoiseach.

John A. Costello was never considered a possible taoiseach until he became it, and then was seen as a 'natural' for the role.
De Valera, with his tortorous language and halting way of speaking would be unelectable as a leader in today's media age.

The truth is that many leaders are never thought prime ministerial material until they become prime minister, and then end up seeming to be the very embodiment of the role. You could say that the office maketh the man (or woman).

Become a whinger and cry on six one news when you are caught with your grubby little hands in the cookie jar,hide behind a secretary down at the tribunals.or wear charve shirts that other people paid for and go to the tribunal. That seems to be a qualification for the job of an Irish Taoiseach. So Enda has a job on his hands to satisfy the Irish public.
