Fine Gael to open new office in Waterford City

Senator Paudie Coffey is to open a new office in Waterford City next week and I am led to believe that Mr. Kenny will be present to launch the new office. This is the beginning of the campagain for two Fine Gaeel seats in Waterford.

For anyone who is not aware Senator Coffey (in his first general election) backed by Senator Cummins and 90% of the Fine Gael city and county councilors polled over 4600 1st preference votes in the last election and wasnt far away from being elected. Deputy Deasy was elected after Coffey was eliminated and finished 6th, with 4 to be elected. It is my prediction that Labour will loose a seat in Waterford next time around and that Coffey will take it and also out poll deasy. Although this doesnt impact on Fianna Fail's 2 seats it is a gain for us.

Coffey only polled 1000 in the City last time out and this new office will establish him as a city and county candidate. Watch this space

Following on from the new Kildare South Office established by FG in Newbridge (a party office as apposed to any particular candidate) it bodes well for FG in the two respective constituencies.
Ireland interests are best secured within a more dynamic EU. Vote YES to Lisbon.

How is it a gain if the only party you can feasibly form a Government with is Labour?

    Yeah great

It is essential for Irish capitalism that there is a strong reserve capitalist party to take over and steady the ship for a term when FF have really ********************ed up before they hand the reins back over. FF have been the 1st preference for Irish capitalism traditionally but capitalists can not put all their eggs in one basket and must own a secondary party ie FG. Of course FF and FG will try to portray themselves as different and therefore con the electorate into thinking they have some sort of choice or alternative.

Shouldn't you be at a college gate with a loud-hailer shouting your lungs out at first years convincing them that capitalism is all evil, that everybody in FG and FF drives a nice shiny new Mercedes and that we generally eat cute furry animals for breakfast?

Honestly, I never get tired of ranting lunatics. keep it coming.

On the issue, yes an extra seat for FG in Waterford is good. FG will probably be only able to work with Labour but if they get close enough they might coalese with the Greens. FG should pick up another ten seats in the next General Election.

I never said anything of the sort. I just stated that FG is the reserve party for Irish capitalism when FF have really mucked up. Are you actually going to deny that is true?

Tell it to the first years on Freshers Week. Are you guys still using the old yellow red and black typset? LOL.

FG had continually warned the current and last government about over-reliance on the property sectory. Does that make us capitalists? Maybe. I can tell you that there are many in FG who believe that state run healthcare is a good thing, yet at the same time they believe that encouraging enterprise is also good. So are you saying that they are capitalists and socialists at the same time? Or do you know what you are talking about.

I think that you feel that enterprise is a dirty word. You cannot reconcile the idea that someone could encourage entreprise yet at the same time want to protect the most vulnerable in society.

I have never seen a single "socialist" initiative which encouraged enterprise. If you know of one, name it.

There were some possibilities for extra seats for FG in the last election if they were brave enough to go with running extra candidates early enough into the race. I can see more candidates next time out.
