Dr James Reilly is the man. Formidable foe with a bit of flair and moxy. Not a bloodline careerist like Coveney or Kenny.

Oh shut up, you idiot. Reilly hasn't got the first interest in anything other than the Health Portfolio. He'd be an outstanding Health Minister, but no party wants a single-issue leader.

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

Nobody emerges on top in that IMO nest of vipers, without his eye on the main chance. Kenny's a very foolish man if he's not watching his back.I can reveal that a deputation of senior figures in the party has come to me in recent days. I am considering their representations urging me to stand as Reilly's stalking horse. As of this moment, I am favourably disposed to do so.
