    Eddie Hobbs

advice to FG HQ. Stay away from Eddie Hobbs. Do not encourage FG TDs to support or praise Hobbs. His programme is devastating. FF are reeling and have only made maters worse by criticising Eddie. Donie Cassidy made a fool of himself by threatening to spend taxpayers money to prove our Eddie wrong. Tim O'Malley wrote a suicide note in Limerick and did so on PD headed paper. John Minihan saw the danger and tried to undo some of the damage to no avail. Eddie Hobbs is the dynamite Tom Gilmartin was to be. Fgt should stand aside and let it happen and have a quiet chuckle all the way to the corridors of power.

    Couldn't agree more.

Good point. FF should have said nothing and just ignored it. Criticising a television hosts who is presenting a pretty light hearted look at modern Ireland, was very foolish.

And in fairness Hobbs has never said that FG is any better than FF. His point is more about the culture of Ireland rather than any anti-FF rant. But know, because of the stupidity of Cassidy and O'Malley Hobbs will forever be associated as anti-government figure rather than a consumer activist.

Sorry in one way ffor opening another Eddie Hobbs flank. This one is by way of advice to FG only. Billy Timmins the Wicklow TD couldn't resist an outing on East Coast radio praising Eddie Hobbs. FG shouldn't become involved. Leave Eddie his independence. FF spindoctors are trying to paint Eddie as wishing to run for Fine Gael. This is fanciful stuff. Govt. will do everything to heap ************************ on Eddie but it wont stick. He is the undisputed people's champion. FG should stay away from him and let him fan the flames under FF/PD.
