FG move to protect their unregulated printing operation

It was reported in today’s Sunday Tribune (P2), that the Fine Gael Party is to sue the Ceann Comhairle Dr. Rory O’Hanlon TD over his plans to regulate the state facilities TDs have access to during the period of a General Election.

Dr. O’Hanlon’s actions follow the “Kelly” judgement of the High Court in 2002. His wide ranging proposals if passed will introduce rule chances that would level the playing pitch for candidates during elections.

Fine Gael’s main gripe is the loss of government funding for their two unregulated printing presses located in the basement of their Dublin HQ. The two machines are presently used to pump out propaganda for TDs, Senators and Cllrs.

Under the new proposals a new Dáil publishing department would be established, the use of which would only be available to TD & Senators, something Fine Gael seems determined to resist...

the title of this is grossly misleading, and (on edit) TK's version of what the Tribune report says is grossly misleading

seriously, are you a paid member of FF? Do they ask you to go on web-sites and create bad press for FG? Or is it just a hobby?

    Is that so?

Well here's something which you (rather conveniently) forgot to mention.

The office facilities will be remove from all TDs, but will still be available to all Ministers, Junior Ministers, and Chairs of Oireachtas Committees.

So half of the Fianna Fail party will have an advantage over the rest of the Dail.
THIS is the nub of the FG arguement hwew, and the central point of the Tribune article.

But Shock! Horror! you left that out for some reason!

And you accuse me of hypocrisy?! You pathetic little man

Did you see the Tribune front page? Still think FF are on course for single party minority government?!
