Re: FG move to protect their unregulated printing operation

Yesterday's Irish Time's carried a story entitled "FG warns of court challenge to Oireachtas printing reforms".

The story follows on from the party's threats to sue the Ceann Comhairle Dr. Rory O'Hanlon over his committee's efforts to regulate all parties publicly funded Óireachtas printing operations with a view to ending the "grossly inefficient" system in place at the moment.

The article quoting an official in Empty Enda's office who declared "We (FG) have now instructed our three printers not to co-operate with these changes"

The article goes on to claim the new system wouldn’t suit FG as there would be concerns about "confidentiality" etc.

I wonder what Pat has to say about Fine Gaels continued willingness to support a system, which is grossly inefficient, and a serious waste of taxpayers money?

    Ah TK, we've missed you.....

But while you were away, there was quite a bit of discussion about the use of childish nicknames for politicians - and the commonly-held view seems to be that they drag down the tone of the site, and make it look immature and childish. So please bear that in mind, and cut it out.

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

Hmm......who would have thought that the Opposition parties might object to have the printing of their material controlled and inspected by the Government.
    The cheek of them!

And as for the "grossly inefficient/serious waste of taxpayers money" arguement - well only a hick like you would have the brass neck to wail about that!

Doing the sums, the amount of money which was pissed down the urinals in Hawkins House to pay for PPARS, added to the amount of money payed for crappy voting machines, would pay for the entire Western Rail Corridor all the way to Sligo.

Will you join me on the "Transport 21" thread to wail about that??
I won't wait up all night on you, somehow....
