Leo's a more articulate and urbane version of Enda. Wont deliver anything but projects an optimistic outlook. Fist pump.

It matters not a jot who wins, best to just ignore Leo like you would an overly indulged child.

One of his soundbites was about a new social contract, where those who contribute to the system get something from the system.

The other was about keeping public finances on an even keel, and being prudent with public money.

Fast forward 15 minutes, and RTE plays an interview with Tony McLoughlin, TD Sligo North Leitrim.

McLoughlin appeared to indicate that he was voting for Varadkar because he had promised the money needed to fix the N4, in his area. Coveney would offer him nothing in return for his vote.

The cost? A cool one hundred million of public money.

TD after TD has been coming out to support Varadkar, despite him not having made a single policy statement since the campaign launched.

Have they been promised jobs or money, in return for their support?

I think Leo has to show his true FG pedigree by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory...

It is his to win, but we'll end up with Clongowes. We need to, because they always beat Kings Hosp.

    These are our ways....

    They run deep...

Isn't this the sort of thing politicians do in elections? All of them.

You might note the question mark in the thread title, and the use of the phrase "appeared to", in the OP.

Oddly, I don't have access to Varadkar, to ask him...strangely enough, the media hasn't either (other than to take coffee and buns and then run that as the top story on radio one, for the afternoon)

Awful shame that Varadkar wasn't previously a Minister for Transport...

He should have been because he would clearly have been interested in roads, such as the road less traveled and the Marmite motorway.
