Labour Party "desparate" to go into power-Varadkar

Dr Leo Varadkar has claimed that the Labour Party will be desparate to enter coalition with any party after the next general election. The good doctor claimed that all the small parties are in decline and that the future is Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael.

He made these claims on the Wide angle on Newstalk.

Please, FGers, I beg you, on bended knees, please please please make him you leader.

Ah who cares what that arrogant, careerist blowhard says. His party is always going to need us.

I would rather be able to influence government decisions than stay in endless ''principled'' opposition.

that's always been Labour's excuse. It's never kept to a principled position long enough to see if it might eventually begin to win support and get out of opposition - without being a prop for some right wing party.

Yes I would agree to an extent. I am no fan of the leadership.

This is pure silliness, the opposition fighting between themselves, just as in the past, Labour's only ambition was to replace FG as the main opposition party. We need to get FF out of office, not only because we disagree with the way they run the country, but because only by putting them out of power will the hangers on leave them. FF's biggest problem is that every leech in the country has attached themselves to them so that they can feed from the public trough.

Well for someone who is mildly educated Im sure he didnt actually say "desparate" but in fact "desperate" if indeed he used that word. Secondly without a link, or actual quotes or some context it is hard to comment on this thread.
Anyways, Labour will always be in a position to enter govt, for the foreseeable future at least, and either way, FF or FG will always need a coalition partner.
Ireland interests are best secured within a more dynamic EU. Vote YES to Lisbon.

I think FG are the ones that are desperate, at least Labour also have the option of coalition with FF, who have FG got they need the Labour Party at least to try and come anywhere near power.
