TD Forced Out of Fine Gael By Anti Choice Regime!

Just announced in the last few minutes, Lucinda Creighton has had to leave the FG Parliamentary Party because it, unlike FF couldn't allow its parliamentary members to freely choose according to their consciences on the proposed abortion legislation.

Lucinda Creighton votes against government; loses FG whip

To my mind this is dictatorial Government and reminds me of the Haughey era.

Leaving aside Fianna Fáil this time because Martin couldn't get his own party to support him, despite his best efforts, every Irish political party has used the whip in every vote ever.

If this government is dictatorial than so is every one since Decemeber 1922, as is every party since 1922, which really makes no sense.

Quit with this accuracy lark, this an abortion thread. Furthermore, it's Radix's abortion thread.

Now back to continuous anti-choicers lies....

Feel sorry for Lucinda, she's a great talent that Fine Gael has lost. Hopefully sense is seen to and her and the others who voted against the party in the abortion bill will be readmitted to the party at some point and be allowed to run as a Fine Gael candidate in the next election.
