    Kenny launches attack on Ahern

At last the FG leader discovers his form on this issue. Labour to do likewise. Ahern's easy ride in the Dail is over. Greens to squirm and smarm. PD silent: Report here

I'm reminded of the quote "Like being savaged by a dead sheep".

Pity he didnt attack him during the election. Kenny would have won those extra seats if he had.

Yeah, their reluctance was bizarre. Vincent Browne in the Sunday Business Post declared the scales had fallen from his eyes just this week. He makes the point that the public perception of Ahern is based on a lack of close knowledge of the facts. That's changing and beginning to make a dent on his popularity even among his own voters. It suggests that the longer he stays around the more complete his fall from grace will be. Ahern knew this was coming - he should have resigned. Its arguable that the reason he hung on was because of pressure from people like Cowen whose interests would not be served if Bertie had more or less fallen on his sword. Disastrous for the election. Some sort of deal was done, possibly. Cowen is now contaminated by this affair by having joined in the stupid Independent led attempt to distort the facts. It's plain rubbish to claim that Bertie cooperated properly with the Tribunal - straightforward lie. The way that paper is carrying on, this issue could potentially destroy their 'reputation' as well. Enough damning facts are already in the public domain. Who else will Ahern drag down with him?

    little

I have little respect left for Kenny on this; he took the principled position not to attack Ahern on these issues some months ago (actually he only took that line because he thought that to attack would hurt him - some principle!), and now he suddenly grows a pair of balls? Says a lot for the country when this dishcloth is the Leader of the Opposition.

Ahern: "I'm an old man". Come off it. 55 is the new forty.

Kenny and his script writers are political failures. He’ll be sitting on the back benches and his hacks will be on the dole long before Ahern leaves Government Buildings.

You realise that Ahern leaves government buildings several times a day?
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.

Mostly to visit Dublin Castle and/or his lawyers.

Maybe he should spend more time with his doctors to see if they can do anything about his memory problem.
There are times when you are simply required to be impolite. There are times when condescension is called for!
