MEP Avril Doyle in Hot Water over Demand to Remove Tricolour

Poor Avril, how does she get herself into these situations. Whatever about taking down the Tricolour I don't see how she could justify taking down the Papal Colours. Or does she think that the Papacy has no place in the Catholic Church?

Why should a state's flags be flown in a place of religious worship? Why should a family wedding have to take place under those flags?

Seems like a whole load of puff over nothing, tbh.

I can see her point about the tricolour, but the Vatican flag? That one is hard to understand.

sorry but if you'd heard her being interviewed on the matter it was a personal private family event and her preference was not to have flags or such in the church, ala separation of state and church. it was purely a personal matter that some local yokal decided to stir trouble with. hardly a political matter now is it ?

I agree. Nationalism has no place in a church.

Whats the problem it was her daughters wedding? It's not as if she went riot in a church pulling down flags in a fit of rage?

A local concerned citizen I'd say.

I notice avril said it was her decision. Just as a matter of note with it being her daughters wedding would it not be the happy couples decision?
