    Father of the House

Does the Father of the House, the grand old man of Irish politics, Enda Kenny, as the longest-serving member of the Oireachtas get anything for his long-service in the House?

Maybe free lunch vouchers or a prominent parking space for being around Leinster House for so long?

Shut up, you ignorant t*sspot. When you have a party leader who isn't corrupt, maybe then you can lecture other parties about their leaders.
"Elite - a small superior group; esp one that has a power out of proportion to its size." (Oxford English Dictionary)

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

No, don't misunderstand me - I think Enda should be rewarded for his long service to the House.

It is just dsb being his usual childish self. Pity him.

Of course, if it hadn't been for his antics that forced his resignation, the Father of the House would be . . . Ray Burke.

At least Kenny didn't happen to resign for ethical violations. :P

Well at least he'll have one achievment to his name. Its like the kid in school who gets an attendance award. Makes the rest of us feel less pity for him.

What's childish about wanting to reward such a long servant of the Oireachtas? I wanted him to be Ceann Comhairle, all that experience going to waste...

Very churlish of you. Such service ought to be rewarded...
