'Unionist' has always been a term of abuse down here.

It shows up the Nationalist and Republican waffle about 'mutual respect' in a future
    'United Ireland' as ballsology.

It shows Irish Nationalism as narrow-minded, racist and bigoted.
No Brits ( West or otherwise ) and Northern Unionists welcome here.

Well, don't worry. The people of Northern Ireland don't want a United Ireland -
    so it won't be happening.

The abuse and bitter rantings of Shinners and other assorted pub patriots are a
complete waste of time and immature fantasy......

Eh, it's the term 'Londonderry' not the term 'Unionist' that is being discussed. I have complete respect for unionists but I'm not going to use colonialist terms like 'Londonderry' to show respect. It's outrageous for a Minister in the Irish government to stand up in the Dáil and refer to the Irish city of Derry as 'Londonderry'. If he was a northern unionist I guess it would be somewhat understandable. The fact is that the Irish Parliament is a symbol of Irish freedom from colonial rule. Colonialist labels and terms have no place in it.

I'm Irish, if it's any of your business.
I take it you're German - with a Nazi namesake....

It's not racist or bigoted to want independence and justice. Granted though you do seem to know a fair bit about bigotry.
