Frugal Enda uses a 2001 Nokia phone (Nokia 6310)

no 500 euro bling iphone for enda.

it's a pity more Irish people weren't more like Enda, who obviously didn't go mad during the bubble.

It's a good phone by the way - easy to use buttons, although a bit on the heavy side.

There are two simple specs required of a mobile phone.

Can I make and get calls?

Can I send and get texts?

    The rest is noise.

It really depends on the individual. I need Internet on the go. I also like the free text and free calls while travelling using viber etc. sounds to me like he is a technophobe, wonder if he can switch on a computer.. Btw my mother has the same phone as enda...

It's just about at the limits of Enda's technological skills! Now if that phone came with a crank handle...

He is also wearing a nicely laundered shirt and dry cleaned suit, getting out of a decent car, and has a highly paid special advisors, and his Dublin apartment is subsidised by the State. Is that austerity?

BS - The Blackberry email system is absolutely fantastic if you are running a business.

And on that note Enda is probably using the reliable Nokia whilst his blackberry gets fixed...
