Besides, the solution is very simple. Increase levies on these gold-plated payments.
He is being "singled out" because he is a multi-millionaire working full time getting a 138k pension from the state when he is not even at retirement age while simultaneously calling for cutbacks for the rest of us. Where I come from we don't get a pension until we retire.

He said it on a live radio interview in 1996 I think.

Widely reported at the time. Bruton complained to a local radio reporter in Cork that "I am sick of answering questions about the fu.king peace process" when Taoiseach.
Why did Minister Phil Hogan drop the independent review into planning irregularities within Dublin and Cork city councils and Carlow, Meath, Galway and Cork county councils ?

You are dead right, and then the donkey said he was misquoted. And it on live radio. That is the respect he had for the people he was supposed to be leader of. Then it was by default, thank god.

That wasn't the quote Desperate Dan referred to.

This site would be jumping up and down if a FF politician adopted the same attitude as John Bruton.

I see no difficulty with the site highlighting FG/Lab politicians hypocrisy/lies/unpatriotic behaviour.

In our current bankrupt economic state every instance of lucrative, gold plated arrangements like these, need to be exposed to public scrutiny.
After all it's our money funding these payments.
