Hardship ahead , unless you work for Kenny

Funny how our Taoiseach thinks our finances are so dire as to require a state of the nation address , just to remind us how austeity is needed........ Unless of course you're one of Kennys cronies and Inner circle

Kenny had barely got his bags unpacked in the Taoiseachs office when he instructed ( and over ruled) the Dept of Finance to ignore pay guidelines ( promised in the elction!) to And give a "special advisor" a 35,000 pay rise .....nice work if you can get it especialy from a bankrupt country !

You might want to remember that as he tells us how we all have to share the Pain in his ego fest , i mean state of the nation address tonight

Kenny gave former advisor a 35k pay increase, breaking pay cap.

It’s emerged the Taoiseach ordered the Department of Finance to bend the rules on pay rates for advisors so that his former advisor Ciaran Conlon could be awarded a pay increase of 35 thousand euros.

Oh Enda, you stupid, stupid man. What the hell were you thinking? Isn't cronyism a Fianna Fáil trait?

The Party of change, is it? What did you change?

With the above story in mind, what of the speach tonight? Will we hear austerity mentioned?

By the way FG guys, I'm actually disappointed to hear this. I do think of Enda as a bit of a gob but I didn't think he was bent. Disappointed, I'll get to angry yet.

    .
Well clearly it's not a FF trait. It appears that the former Opposition and now Government actually admired the antics of the last government. I would even argue that these sort of antics are worse than the conduct of the last government as FG/Labour were elected on a platform of changing the way we do politics in Ireland. The Taoiseach is going live to the nation tonight to tell us to tighten our belts, yet he finds sufficient money in the tax revenues of the State to pay a special adviser who will provide Enda with plenty of good soundbits.

If he says we have to tighten our belts, I think I will throw something at the TV.

Link to the story in the MoS, complete with copies of the emails.

Didn't this show up in a thread some time ago on breaches of the limit in general by new ministers?
