Enda is perfectly entitled to seek the support of 83 Dáil deputies to become Taoiseach. He is playing a very clever tactic right now, making it harder for Harney to automatically go in with FF, as he is giving her an alternative. With Bertie's Tribunal problems coming back again, the timing isn't good for FF, so Harney has to at least appear to think carefully about her options - otherwise the PD's will have ultimately reneged on their promise of "Single-Party Government No Thanks!"

I've said it before - my money is on Cowen for Taoiseach on 14th June. Mary will force Bertie to go.

Don't waste your money. Do you really think that Mary Harney is in a position to play hardball? If she's offered Ministry of Health, she'll bite Bertie's hand off.

Bertie is home and hosed on 14th June

I must say i tend to agree. Cowen is looking like a real contender all of a sudden
