Shom mistak shorely? There's absolutely no way a Fine Gael councillor would break the law in any way, shape or form. The newspaper probably got the names mixed up. If you wait until tomorrow, you will find that it's a councillor of another political persuasion. That's my advice to all of you on this thread: reserve judgment until you have a more forensic picture of the situation tomorrow.

They can hardly follow those precedents now they are in government. Can they? Will they? Answers on a VAT3 form to Mount Street.
They didn't have those procedures at the times you referred to, so it would have been difficult to use them.

Our moronic, gombeen, thieving scum just can't allow themselves to think or act in accordance with the laws of the land. They are simply incapable of it. All their tiny brains can think about is screwing someone else for their own personal gain. It really is depressing sometimes.

    The bastards.

Seeing as FG have expelled a Cllr for claiming illicit expenses surely defrauding the revenue and compliant taxpayers is on the same level?

Interestingly this Cllr is quoted in April in the Irish Times decrying the criminal activity of stealing beer kegs for scrap. What are his views on the crime of tax evasion I wonder?

Beer kegs are being delivered and “robbed before the publican gets to clear his yard,” he remarked.
Am I to understand that empty beer kegs are being delivered to pubs in Offaly?

Talk about being a day late and a dollar short. I suspect they lifted it from here. Would the Irish Times please in future reference the source for the material?

FINE GAEL has expressed regret after one of its county councillors appeared on the latest list of tax defaulters.

The party gave no indication that it would be taking any action in the case of Co Offaly councillor Percy Clendennen, who reached a €125,000 settlement with the Revenue Commissioners for under-declaration of VAT.

It bodes ill for transparent government if FG do not reprimand this member.

They can't not do kick him out and expect to get re-elected IMO.

I don't suppose anybody called "Killally" got a mention ?

Or is he still officially bankrupt ?
Dublin, Europe's most supportive tourist destination for Peados, thanks to no electronic passport swipe in Dublin Airport. Ireland always facilitates child molestors.

You should know the difference between misguided opinion based on hearsay, and the fact.
