I presume Slowey isn't going to resign over this and will just become an Indpendent and will run again, so I don't think that argument really stands up as FG won't be able to cop out someone.

Trying to replace McGinley in DSW is a problem for FG, but that won't be helped by this or at least it's extremely unlikely that it will be. If FG do have someone great to replace McGinley, than they always could have ran him/her in the next local elections anyway.

No need to worry re Mc Ginley's replacement, Donegal will be a five seater and FG will hold 1 seat at best.... Mc Hugh. Its who ever his running mate will be someone new young Paddy Harte ??.

Now there's no FG cllr in the Glenties electoral area! In my view there are at least 2 FG seats here. The line up for the next local election should be very interesting especially when considered in the context of the next general election!!
