Good Luck to Enda Kenny & Fine Gael today

Up to now I think everyone within the party has given 110%. Let it continue for today and see our Parliamentary party numbers increase and come Sat be in a position to challenge FF for Government.

I also just want to add in case we do not get into power - I would like to see Enda Kenny remain as leader of the party.

Off out now at 5am for a long long day

Actually My westmeath friend I'm just in now from a long day (up at 7am, Exam at 2, champions leauge, coppers) and want to endorse your remarks.

Enda has done a tremondous job. Roll on tomorrow (today?). By my reconing it's a 50/50 chance of an FG led government, either way it's going to be an interesting few days.

Looking in from the outside, it seems to me that Enda did a tremendous amount of work on the ground in the last few years, and is due much credit for how this campaign has turned out. Should FG stay on the opposition benches, I think it would do FG a great disservice to be calling for his head.

I have a suspicion anyway that Enda decided that if the 30th Dail turned out to be his last, it wouldn't be such a terrible thing, hence the whole contract thing.

I suspect that if he's not the incumbent Taoiseach next time, he won't be running again. So if ye fail, I'd say be patient, he'll hand over to Bruton well before the next elections.
    Good riddance.

Enda Kenny will be remembered favourably regardless of what happens. He and he alone ahs ensured that election 2007 would be a competitive one. He has put his heart and sould into this fight and whatever happens, FG will emerge with plenty of fresh, new deputies who will go on to achieve great things.

Here's hoping Enda gets his chance at the big job. God knows he deserves it.
