Is it time for a 'State of the Nation' address by Taoiseach Enda Kenny?

We have a new Government. There are problems to be solved. But 'change' hasn't been grabbed by the scruff of the neck. People are still being drip fed more bad news on a daily basis. We desperately need a Presidential style address, which will honestly and truthfully tell us how bad it has to get before it gets better. And even more importantly we need to actually see 'real vision' in action, showing us the citizens that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

It is only then, that we can exercise a collective will, and march forward, rebuilding our country knowing that it will not be in vain, safe in the knowledge that there is indeed a strong captain manning the tiller of our ship in choppy waters.

This can best be achieved only through 'strong leadership' from a 'Strong Leader'.

    Let us see him!

He might be holding back for the default.

Couldn't agree more. I've said it before - he needs to be on before the nine o'clock news (every night if that's what it takes). To let us know exactly what the score is and what progress he has made in relation to his solemn promise to the Irish people.

Where is FG's Elliott Ness who promised he'd waste no time in breaking down the doors of Ireland's greedy Untouchables to deliver swift justice??

Yes I think it would be a good idea.

You want a guy who was afraid to appear on a show with Vincent Browne, prior to becoming Taoiseach, to make a state of the nation address on television now that he doesn't need to? Be realistic.

Oh come on. If he was on before the News every night you'd be claiming Ireland was becoming a dictatorship. Thankfully, we have a free press, who report what they deem to be newsworthy. And the GIS provide them with plenty of information to report, which they then report, and criticise as they see fit.

Which is the way it should be.

Get your facts right - he didn't go on Vincent Browne's "debate" because he detests Browne, and Browne detests him - so it wouldn't have been a fair debate. Would you play in a football match where the ref stated in advance that he can't stand you?
