Couldn't agree more if shown to be accurate. In fact an example should be made. The more harshly that any form of cronyism is dealt with by this Dail the more credibility will be restored.

any chance you might tell us EXACTLY what the problem is here?? She has been appointed to answer phones and write letters etc. She hasnt been appointed to some state board where her qualifications could be called into question.

Yep this is pretty normal and it would be insulting to appoint her on half salary etc. I see nothing wrong.

Seriously, what makes you believe that a political/electoral system that have produced rampant cronyism over the years is somehow capable of generating something very different this time (where no structural reform has been implemented)? Just because politicans preach under different banners?

As it's on the taxpayers euro there would want to have been a formal process to shortlist and interview prospective candidates ensuring the people are getting the best value for money at a rate commensurate with similar roles in other organisations

If she's the best person for the job, then you can't discriminate on the grounds that she's married to him, but if she's not, then she should be removed. What qualifications/experience has she?

obviously its pretty clear what the problem is, why is the Job not advertised like all other Jobs, thousands of people who would love a job like that, also the fact he failed to get her onto the Council as his own party members rejected her would leave a serious question mark in my head as to her abilities, have we not learned anything in the past 15 years, you know jobs for the boys, or in this case, the wife.
