Enda Kenny "surrounded by well wishers" in Westmin

according to miriam lord in todays irish times
Not far away, sitting in the front row to his left, was Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny. He looked good. Afterwards, when the two prime ministers left, deputy Kenny was surrounded by well wishers. Former Conservative prime minister John Major shook his hand. "Go for it, man! Go for it!" said John.
people backing the right horse obviously........

They know who their friends are. Fine Gael should never be trusted with power because of their sycophantic attitude to Britain. At best it's embarrassing (John Bruton's Price Charles speech) and at worst dangerous (John Bruton's handling of the peace process).

Enda shares John Brutons politics but isn't as bright.

It's hardly surprising that EPP members would support their man. John Major is a member of the EPP, so is Enda Kenny.

Also ML explained very well why Bertie looked even more shifty than usual - as he knew it was his swansong and he was on his way out - politicians can smell defeat a mile away which is why they flock of Brown and Kenny.

The irony of course that if it wasn't for Bruton understanding that no peace process could work without recognising the unionist - instead of pretending they don't exist - then the hard work for the GFA couldn't have been completed. But if Bertie wants to pretend he did it all himself why burst his bubble.

Also I hope the murderers of Garda McCabe are settling into the SF/IRA safe house they were taken to until after the new government is formed. Wouldn't want anyone beign reminded of what they did now would we or of FF's role in getting him released about 30 years too early.

If politicians can smell defeat a mile away then they wouldn't be flocking to Brown.

    He's going to be trounced.

What? Just saving resources for the enviroment. Think globably and act locally.

Bruton scared the ************************ out of me any time he approached the peace process. He gets no credit from me there!

And Bertie doesn't get much credit from me either... "We won't go into govt with SF" whilst simultaneously insisting the Ulster Unionists go in with them. eejit.

As for the McCabe killers... its time to move on...

Actually Major would be affiliated to the ED, allied to the EPP but not actually members of it (hence the rather cumbersome title EPP-ED; and they wonder why the EU isn't loved by its citizens). Kenny by contrast is vice-president of the EPP.

Miriam Lord is a joke and quoting her remarks are serious political commentary is a joke.
