Very impressed with it...
The contract is a great little gimmick (for want of a better word) and will, at the very least, provide your party with quite a few transfers that they wouldn't have got.

yeah it is very good.......even if enda's bit at the table is a little bit rehearsed!!!
very well put together though
and better than the fianna fail one.........a long list of fianna fail hacks telling us how great life is![]()
Concept of the contract is strong and the promise of delivery rather than promises is compelling but I still need to see more leadership from Kenny. Hes a nice man, a good man and not an egotist but I just need to see his leadership persona on view.
I am fearful that the head to head debate will be damaging to Kenny. He needs to undermine Bertie, to make him ratty. When Bertie gets wound up in the Dail he is less measured in his comments and appears foolish. Kenny should appear, calm, strong and dignified and work hard to convince us that he should not only lead FG but he should be the countrys leader!
Given that the whole "Contract" idea was copied from Silvio Berlusconi I was only surprised that Enda didn't do it in italian!!
Are you sure that if Enda makes Bertie all "ratty" that there won't be a backlash from the great unwashed. :wink:Originally Posted by interestedgal

Jaysus, I thought that I'd met some blinkered people but my God rover, you take the biscuit! Is there anything you can't turn into an anti-FF jibe?Originally Posted by rover

Some people see things as they are and ask why? I dream things that never were and ask why not?

And FF's slogan, "alot done more to do" was taken from FG 77 campaign.

Fine Gael Party Political Broadcast
Alot depends on the mind of the person viewing it. Some people think it rivals 'On The Waterfront', others see it as more of an episode of 'Neighbours'. What we don't seem to realise is that most of us are looking at it either through blue or green-tinted glasses! We're not being objective!
Here's what the Fine Gael Party Political Broadcast says to me (glasses off now!): I see the whole "Sign the contract" thing as a bit like "It does what it says on the tin" or "Things go better with Coca Cola" - it's just a slogan, nothing more, nothing less. Enda is seen signing some sheet designed by the director. It seems to be aimed more at people of low intellect or poor education - I sincerely hope that that's not what they have in mind.
His "teacher" tone is annoying. "Listen now boys and girls, be good all this week and teacher will give you a gold star on Friday" kind of approach. Then again, he was a teacher for many years so I suppose it's hard to get rid of that sing-song, "you're a child, I'm an adult" tone.
One of the worst aspects of Enda's campaign to me is the three different Endas we see, depending on where we look. On his posters, he is unrecognisable - dark brown hair and heavily Photoshopped. On the PP Broadcast, he looks pale and wan, too much make-up and tired eyes (look closely at the red lines in his eyelids). On video-clips from his campaign, even though he does smile and joke alot, his face looks drawn and he looks older than the other two 'Endas'.
Which one is the real Enda?:
Who would want green "one of the mob" ratings? Red and proud!
Thats the question we're all asking, Which Enda appearance is the actual Enda?
Can he claim to have any credibility, when he flip flops from being tired, to not being tired?
