But Bertie still has to come out with his explanation - that'll be some crack/craic!! Although, it now looks like McD is going to allow him off the hook and not bother with that until the election is over - primarily because imo, Bertie can't give a plausible explanation.

The explanation might need to be plausible when he's in the witness box at the tribunal but for electoral purposes it just has to be confusing and emotional. In fact he could say he stole the money from blind orphans and Tom Parlon still wouldn't let McDowell pull out of government. Bertie is holding all the cards.

Most people already believe that there was something dodgy about the money and they also believe it had to do with his marriage break-up. They understand so they forgive. Those who don't appear heartless. We don't want to be ruled by them. Hence Enda's attempt to get away from the issue. He's right but he might be too late.

I know, it's really, really sad isn't it? What I don't understand is why the rest of the party don't just tell him to go? Or would he not think of resigning himself - one thing's for sure he's got no japanese roots!!

On topic again, I've noticed that Ladbrokes have the following prices up now:
    Inda EVS
    Bertie 6/5
    Biffo 9/2

This is a departure for high street bookies in that Inda is now fav - i also know that ladbrokes are taking reasonably large bets on this market - or at least were last week.

    Enda would Ruin our Progress

I dont understand why the intelligent people of Ireland actually believe the "Cardboard Man" could lead this country.... The inexperience, the lack of personality, the stiffness- How could this man go to the North and negotiate with Ian Paisley & Co- Fine Gael has traditionally not been able to deliver on the North- and Kenny will continue this if he is allowed to be Leader

Just watch Betfair and ignore the high-street bookies. All they are doing is apeing what's happening on Betfair anyway if you ask me..
To bet, or not to bet? That is the question.
