Fine Gael's Contract for a Better Ireland

What's In The Contract for a Better Ireland?

    Health Services that Work
    - Free health insurance for every child under 16.
    - Free GP visits for every child under five.
    - 2,300 more acute hospital beds.

    Safer Streets
    - 2,000 more Gardai on the streets, fully equipped, when and where we need them.
    - Tougher sentences for violent criminals by ending the government's policy of automatically reducing sentences by 25%.

    A Year of Pre-school
    - Access to one year of pre-school education for all children by expanding the number of public places available and generously subsidising those who use independently provided pre-schools.

    Immigration System Under Control
    - Appoint a Minister for Immigration Affairs to ensure the system is good for the Irish and good for the immigrants, to keep Ireland safe, and to improve, not threaten, our working and living standards.

    Healthy Environment
    - Specific targets for every government agency to reduce its carbon footprint so that government leads by example.
    - Increased investment in the development of renewable energy.
    - Lower taxes on bio fuels and encouragement of their growth.
    - Reward people who drive lower emission cars with reduced taxes.

    Your Money Spent Well
    - Dismiss any Minister reckless with your hard-earned taxes, so we can stop the waste, improve public services and keep more money in your pocket.

    Lower Taxes
    - Lower income taxes for every taxpayer with a reduction in the standard rate from 20% to 18%.
    - Specific tax relief for families where someone stays home to care for a child or a parent.

    Stamp Duty Overhaul
    - Lower rates for every transaction.
    - Abolition for all first-time buyers up to €450,000

Fine Gael has always shown that their main contract is with the big landowners and big busness. As long as this is the case FG can only offer the leftovers from the plates of the wealthy to the ordinary people of Ireland.

Not only that but if he does fail to meet his contract agreements Fine Gael will be dead in the water come the next election day. As it will be clear Fine Gael in government are failures and shouldn't be given another chance.
Theres also nothing in the agreement about not raising taxes in other areas to meet the contract obligations.

And if you believe that .... did you hear the Vatican announced that Christmas Day is now the 25th of May?
The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites

Leard to spell before you accuse FG of being a party for the big landowners and big business.

Ever heard of the Just Society document?
Ever heard of Declan Costello even?

    Seriously,

FG stand for an equitable health service while FF want to let companies build private hospitals on public lands

FF handed over our offshore oil ex gratia.

and exactly who are the Independent group owned by Tony O'Reilly backing in the general election?

    Fianna Fail.

The thing is though. You get the impression that things are falling into place in some sort of order for Fine Gael and Labour while FF are a bit slapdash. Seems unusual.

The contract is absolutely necessary for the voters to see that accountability is not something dithering Bertie can deliver.
