Election '07 to mark end of era of FF/PD broken promises

Enda Kenny responds to the election being called,

"Today marks the beginning of the end of ten years of Fianna Fáil/PD broken promises and complacency. The people of Ireland know that this Government won't do in 15 years what they haven't done in the last ten. They won't deliver health services that work. They won't make the streets safer. And they won't spend the people's money well. Their time is up.

"It's time for a government that keeps its word and delivers the public services that people need and deserve. That's why I'm offering 'The Contract for a Better Ireland'. That's why I'm putting my own neck on the line to show how serious I am about delivering it.

"Today, we offer the people of Ireland real hope and a chance to take their destiny in their own hands by voting for the Alliance for Change, for Fine Gael and Labour."

I agree, anything that this govt, promises in the upcoming election should be taken with a pinch of salt, as they will justbreak them once again. what they haven't delivered in 10 years they won't deliver in the next 5

This election is like deja vu in some ways.

FG promising thousands of hospital beds, 2000 extra gardi and tax cuts...just like FF did 5 years ago...it's like FG is FF for slow learners.

Tho when I hear them talk about "the next steps" I can't help but see the following quotes appear in my mind...

"There are no signifigant overruns projected and no cutbacks are being planned secretly or otherwise"

    "world class health service"

    "better teacher-pupil ratio"

"permenantly end hospital waiting lists within two years"

FF programme isn't worth the paper it's written on.

Fool me once, shame on you , fool me twice, shame on me.

    THE END

Lets vote for change. Give the Rainbow a chance. Dont waste your vote on SF and their Northern based nonsense policies. Vote the Rainbow, Vote for real hope.

Well a rainbow wouldn't be change, they spend alot of time talkin about how their policies are simialr to FF.

I beleive they are not as corrupt as FF (tho that could be lack of oppertunity rather than superiour ethics)
I beleive they'd keep their promises.

but if you actually want major policy change...then rainbow is not the way to go.

You say that as if floating voters visit this site. How about we make a committment not to canvass each other and lets just argue about opposing policies for the next three weeks. Despite them being very similar on most counts thus highlighting the fact that there is no real choice for the Irish electorate.

If were going to do that can we at least debate the areas where the rainbow and ff-pd ACTUALLY disagree?

Instead of pretending that they have diffrent economic policies and if we vote FG Enda and Pat are gonna tear the cranes from the sky with their bare hands?

Your not alone, had I been able to vote in 2002 it would have been

    1. PD
    2. FF
    3. FF
