The law states that commercial tax is only available where the vehicle is used exclusively for commercial purposes.

Yep ensuring Commercial vehicle drivers dont dare run an errand that might be considered private is the biggest problem facing the Guards at the moment.... they should take the special forces out of Limerick and stop all surveilance on Drug gang and their murderous feuds and concentrate all their resources on this ..

Lets say I own a Transit for work, use to carry my tools and materials but have a a car at home that I use for the weekends and my wife uses during the week.
Monday to Friday I go to work and drive right past my kids school so I give them a lift.
According to Gormley I now have to pay private tax instead of commercial.
Lets say I have a small VW caddy van that I use for work to carry tools. My wife gives me a call on a Thursday and asks me to pick up some shopping on the way home. Gormley now wants me to pay private tax instead of commercial.
Lets say I have a large 4x4 twin cab that I bought as a commercial vehicle and tax as a commercial vehicle. My wife has her own car but we use mine as the main car. The biggest thing that was ever in the back was the paving stone we picked up at the garden centre. Now Gormley wants me to tax it privately instead of commercially.
Now I and 99% of the population can see the difference between the three examples.
However Gormley (and apparently you) cannot. That is why the Greens face oblivion in the next election.
Its a pretty simple proposition.
Should the law in relation to motor tax be enforced or not?
I don't care what Ryan says, or what other laws are enforced or not.
