    FGs lack of substance exposed:

    Since teh FGers are trying to keep this secret, I thought I'd publicise it:

    From The Irish Times on Saturday morning:
    Leader fails to arrive on cue
    Mark Hennessy, Political Correspondent

    Fine Gael suffered an embarrassing gaffe last night after party leader Enda Kenny was not ready to take to the platform when he was introduced to delegates on the opening night of the party's ardfheis in Dublin.
    Lauding Mr Kenny's leadership, Carlow-Kilkenny TD Phil Hogan told several hundred delegates that Fine Gael was ready for government under a leader who has proven himself to be energetic enough for the campaign ahead.
    Having risen to their feet, the delegates applauded and applauded but no sign emerged of Mr Kenny, who had not been outside the door of the Citywest's Verschoyle Suite to make his entrance.
    To make matters worse, television cameras and newspaper photographers, who had been in place to capture Mr Kenny's arrival, instead turned to focus on delegates as their clapping began to slow.
    "That was a dress rehearsal. Sorry about that," joked Mr Hogan, who was clearly less than pleased at the mix-up, particularly after one member of the audience dryly declared: "Well done, Phil."
    Within a few minutes Mr Kenny had arrived outside, although Mr Hogan was playing it safe, delaying his introduction until the main door was open and he could see his leader ready to enter.
    Out of breath, Mr Kenny then launched into his speech about the inequities, inefficiencies and infections within the health service.

    Like those who are obsessed with homosexuality, I am secretly a Fine Gaeler, but just can't come out.

    Um... what is this thread about?

    Bit of a breakdown in choreography, momentarily embarassing, quick laugh, world moves on.

    I doubt the blueshirts are trying to keep it a secret, just think nobody really cares!

    Re: FGs lack of substance exposed:

    You can tell FF are in a panic when

    * its leader changes script for his Árd Fheis speech a day before it, does an entire u-turn on everything he and his ministers have been saying, and replaces his speech with a list of bribes to the electorate;

    * when the Minister for the Environment puts attending a fundraising event for FF before dealing with a water crisis in the west, and then refuses to meet any councillors but those of his own party to discuss the crisis;

    * FF ignore the PDs and begin lovebombing the Greens;

    * when Bertie's own ruling mates come so low in the polls they risk being overtaken by Christian Solidarity and Republican Sinn Féin;

    * when a FF supporter turns a simple mix-up over cues, when someone on the platform announces someone before they should have, into a supposed attack on the main opposition party, and true to form makes an ejjit of himself.

    I'm not a Fine Gaeler, and I didn't find that amusing in the slightest.
