Burton and Bruton would be more capable individuals to hold Economy/ Finance related Portfolios that any of the current muppets at Cabinet.

Well if your plan is to get Ireland back to work, the steps in that plan should be steps geared towards that. Saying that the first step is to get Ireland back to work, gives the impression that he doesn't really have any ideas, or at least isn't able to get them across in an interview.

    Would I vote FG ?

Enda comes across as a nice guy but ...............
    1. when he rules out Sinn Fein as partners in Government 'because they still have an army council' is beyond belief.....not even Mi5 spun that one .
    2. Touting Bruton - as his next finance Minister is certainly rubbing Labour /Gilmores face in it .
Labour may insist on a rotating Taoiseach ....

On TWIP he twice ruled out insisting on Bruton for Finance. That's as good as conceding it to Lab.

He does come across as a nice guy, but that isn't enough to get people to vote for him. He should do what he says and try and act himself more. He certainly still isn't doing that. When he gives speeches, he does his 'giving a speech voice', as if he's doing a soundbite along the lines of 'ich bin ein berliner' or 'open this gate, tear down this wall'. Enda's: 'I offer you a new hope'. He should cut out the bs and talk to people properly. None of this rubbish convinces anyone, especially when it's coming from him.

I used to think he had no ideas but am slowly coming around to thinking that maybe his problem is not being good at interviews.. He certainly does come accross as wodden.. Personally I would prefer someone with good ideas rather than someone who’s just good at interviews.

When you consider the damage done to this country by the likes of Bertie Ahern, the most popular political leader we ever had, surely its time we recognised that our political leaders should have more important qualities than simply the ability to impress a television audience.
Kenny has the courage to at least talk about bringing about badly needed changes to our political system, while Cowen on the other hand dithers over a bloody cabinet reshuffle where the criteria seems to be first and foremost, loyalty to the party and to hell with the country and ability to do the job.

lets see how the departments are divided up after the reshuffle this week...there would be a great opportunity(it seems to me) for both Bruton and Burton to shine....if there was to be a GE.......

    The future Government

I dont see the numbers adding up, FG will need Labour, again.
I cannot see why they are throwing shapes now before the next gov talks start . The best and logical outcome is for FG and FF to get on with it together and forget this post civil war **************************************** / hangover , but this will not happen !!
So FG must show a bit of respect for Gilmore/Labour . Transfers will be critcial in the next election ....Lab to FG , FG to Lab -the only way to beat FF/Greens and the rat tag bag of spoiled FFs.

If what he had to say was of any great weight, how he says it wouldn't matter all that much. As it is, he doesn't have a lot to say for himself and when he does, more often than not it's apparent that he doesn't understand what he's talking about.

He's just poor, he’d make a good right hand man, but he’s no leader.
    no pasaran!
