Well you may have heard it said, but it isn't happening.

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

Given that the country has been brought to the brink of ruin by the most popular political leader it ever had, Bertie Ahern, voters may even decide next time around that a political leader should have more important qualities than a craving for approval. In any case, as long as Fine Gael remains strong in the polls and TDs are happy their own seats are safe, Kenny should be safe from potential conspiracies.

Having endured persistent criticism and even derision from segments of the media during his entire eight years as leader, Kenny has demonstrated a resilience and toughness that has surprised the critics who have consistently underestimated him. That experience will stand him in good stead if, and when, he becomes Taoiseach.
I am firmly of the view that one of the greatest injustice ever done to any Irish political leader since arnell was done to Enda Kenny, mostly by the Sindo-John Drennan , Jody Corcoran etc. While they lauded Celtic paper Tiger land of Bertie and Celia, they derided Kenny. And I must say a lot of this rubbed off on wavering FGers who fell for it. I saw all this beforee with Garrett v Haughey who was the common man against an absent minded professor, Alan Dukes was too aloof, John Bruton a West Brit, Michael Noonan too gruff etc. But in hindsight they are all good now compared to CJ, Albert, Bertie, Biffo. And dont forget the Frank Hall syndrome and minister for hardship in the 70s. Would they do same to Saint Brian Lenihan now, on your life no. Hall of course was awared by being made film censor, and the show scrapped, like scrap saturday.
You'd think Kenny committed Treason and brought in IMF. Cowen had all in stitches in Galway at 3.30a.m.but he was "not impaired" -DD Power. FF=Publican páirtí an IMF.

I absolutely agree. There are, and always will be, those outside the party who’s only interest is to destabilise FG. Isn't it about time we stopped falling for it and let go of the inferiority complex this party has had for so long. The fact is no other party leader (of any persuasion) has put their party in the position Kenny has.... the largest party at local government, the largest party in Europe, and the most popular party in all of the most recent opinion polls. If only every member of FG was to display the sort of courage, commitment, and belief we have repeatedly witnessed from Enda Kenny then this party would be a hell of a force to be reckoned with.

FG need to stand tall and focus their attention on the most inept Government in the history of the state.

I caught Eddie Hobbs speech earlier. Now I don't think he is an Fger but he obviously hates FF. I thought he articulated the damage done by the Government and what should be done to get them out very well indeed!

Inda will NEVER be Taoiseach, even members of his own party don't believe in him. Could someone possibly suggest to him that it is bad manners to point... he is at it again in the Times. Michael Ring is the man for the job, he knows that and if truth be told methinks that Inda does also...

It's not just the media who are agin him. Three of his predecessors have been critical of FG policy of late. That's probably a unique distinction in Irish politics.

There's no danger of that happening in FF.
