    Alternative government

Sorry to rain on your parade lads but I have serious concerns about the ability of FG to form an efficient working government.
Firstly years of empty populism by Inda (sign the contract!) Kenny
Secondly a plan to make largely pointless changes to the constitution such as changing the presidential term to five years, why? Its a non political office. 10 000 people to petition the Dail to debate a matter? A cranks charter which will tie up the Dail and do nothing to make it work better. Abolish the Seanad? Not many people know much about it so it must be a good idea seems to be the logic there.
Thirdly a just announced economic package which no one in the party seems to understand involves a huge amount of extra debt onto the vast amounts we are already borrowing just to stay afloat. Oh and get simple Simon to present it to the public.
Forthly, on their first day in government FG and friends will have to accept a lot of the things they have been condemning for months and years, from NAMA to centres of excellence in the health system (they actually support those but keep it quiet). What will they then have to connect them to the public?
Its difficult to see how anyone can mess up things more than some of the FF cabal we had around these last 13 years but we seem to have it with Inda and the boys and girls in FG. Would some sane heads please pay him a visit and tell him to move aside in the home that someone with intelligence can put together some realistic plan to get this country back on its feet?

Just watched. Hilarious. I bet O Donoghue has a more sour puss on him now, poor me hard done by when he cant fly all over world with Kate Ann to race meetings, state cars and gov jets.
You'd think Kenny committed Treason and brought in IMF. Cowen had all in stitches in Galway at 3.30a.m.but he was "not impaired" -DD Power. FF=Publican páirtí an IMF.

Hopefully they'll have worked out how to re-shape the Irish Political System by then or will Enda just be making it up as he goes along as seems to have so far. First seanad reform then abolish the seanad. The idiotic suggestion of a 15 TD list system then no list system according to Leo. Either go for AV+ or don't try proposing the quarter way house. Maybe FG should try reading the constitution before ripping it up.

One party will never be able to reshape the irish consititution on it's own which removing the seanad would require especially in the ludicrous schedule of 1 year and while trying to keep every FG TD on side. So would FG please stop this bull as all it is is an attempt to get the IT readers on side and you'll never go through with it

Well I suppose when they made the video they were wrongfooted by the fact that Brennan was alive.

Maybe you should try reading what FG actually proposed - they said they were looking into a form of list system, but weren't proposing it yet - which tallies with what Varadkar said.

I'd say that's probably why they proposed a constitutional referendum, so.

I'm looking forward to conference. It'll be my first conference in a while. Catching up with the lads should be a bit of craic. From the YFG point of view, it should also be an interesting weekend. I hear counter proposals will be coming from them at the political reform session. Should make for interesting viewing.
    Happy as larry!

Interesting that it is always the opposition that have to have everything perfect. FF can make a mess out of things, but the likes of Cowen and Lenihan will be praised as geniuses. By thed way anyone going to conference , put a muzzle on Luz Endas Cretin, she only uses her knife on her own, tell her to direct fire at FF, and stop whinging about being a minister, enough to have roaring Ring at that

Lucinda and YFG have so much in common, both have no respect for the FG leadership . This is healthy and should encourage energetic debate at the conference .

Yes, but what will they debate I wonder?Issue's of real national importance no doubt that will lift us from this economic mess?

On a side note any pubs down where one could take refuge and be certain not to bump into any FG types?

Well it made for interesting listening on Morning Ireland, Barry Walsh was slapped about a bit over a piece in this morning's Irish Times,
