Will JP Phelan take the Fine Gael seat in Carlow/Kilkenny?

Going by the Red C Carlow Nationalist poll today it is pretty apparent as the figures stack up that John Paul Phelan looks set to take the Fine Gael seat in Carlow/Kilkenny with him on (9%) with Phil Hogan and Fergal Browne (6%). Surely with the transfers he’s bound to pick up from both of them he looks a safe bet with even the unthinkable now looking like a distinct possibility that Hogan could lose his seat.

An untested Labour vote due to Pattison’s departure following on from his automatic selection as CC of the Dáil, a backlash against FF in Carlow following the Sugar Beet debacle, an unquantifiable youth vote that he will get and in my opinion a serious over estimation of Mary Whites prospects all bode well for the young guy from Kilkenny.

Phelan is a great guy, very enlightened and thoughtful, but down-to-earth. I'd be delighted to see him in the Dáil.

It's a pity he's in the wrong bloody party!

How much do they pay for this Red Ass Monkey?

Do they need anyone else? Where does one apply?

I thought that Poll went - in order - Alyward, Maginnis, Hogan, White and [JPP or Townsend of Labour]?
