Seems a bit of a pointless headline. Kenny's time would be up at any stage for the past 18 months if Bruton had stuck the dagger in. Same goes for Lenihan and Cowen. This is entirely exclusive of anything to do with George Lee.

Thought it was interesting that Varadkar failed on Frontline to endorse Kenny, in fact he explicitly stated "its been a bad day for Enda Kenny" and "Yes, there have been mutterings".....this is a crucial few weeks for Kenny...

Don't think that is true, apart from the wobbles post 2007 election, no one in FG had the ammunition to challenge Kenny. People don't mount successful and unsuccessful leadership challenges willy-nilly, they always come about from a set of circumstances....this was the case with Bruton and now with Kenny. The media misteps post Christmas, the fall in the polls and now the embarrassing departure of Lee are a good set of circumstances for any coup to take place.
My guess is that it won't happen, because Richard Bruton is not ruthless enough and he would have been through the set of heaves against the brother, seen how it distablised the party. He will be happy to bide his time and become Finance Minister post election.

Oh Dear...... Be very stupid if they did change leader , divided parties (and a leadership contest would be very divisive) are a major turnoff to the voters
FG if they wish to be elected with a strong enough mandate to dictate to Labour need to kill this leadership talk until after the next election, if they didn't get rid in2007 then they should wait until after the next election (and i cant stand the man)

FG need to decide if they want Kenny to be the story for the next 6 months ( at least) . A story which will appear after every opinion poll.
