Although I think the blame for the Lee escapade rests with Lee himself I think Kenny should just go anyway because there is no public confidence in him as an alternative Taoiseach.

Yes but Kenny is a useless timesever who thinks that it is his turn to be taoiseach. Unless FG takes immediate action to remove him, he may well end up leading FG into another GE defeat.

The George Lee fiasco seems to have provided a stay of execution for Enda Kenny. So FG will soldeir on lead by someone who clearly isn't Taoiseach material. FG should have told Enda to go after losing the last GE, so I suppose they'll bottle it again now. Forget about George Lee, he's yesterdays news, FG's hopes of winning the next GE are seriously impeded by Enda Kenny continuing as leader. Guess there is opportunity for others to pick up the votes that FG will cast aside here. Would like to see Labour push on over the next 18 months and put some clear blue water between themselves and FG.

According to Newstalk the FG frontbench have given their unanimous backing to Enda Kenny as leader.

Yep. They are the big winners. FG holed under the waterline from the whole episode and maybe even Enda more secure in his position, at least for now. FFers must be pissing themselves.

I disagree. I think this episode shows signs of real progress for FG. This time with shotgun in hand, they've managed to find their foot first time.
