Wouldn't think so, though things have changed since I last learnt about such things (the late eighties, I'm embarrassed to admit).

There needs to be murmurings tomorrow. Someone (and not English or Deasy) needs to call for Enda's resignation. There must be someone with a pair somewhere in the FG PP.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

For some in Fine Gael, the party of a handful of years in govt., the choice was clear.

It could only ever be Varadkar.

Mindless choices like that keep FG on the bench.
I think varadkar puts of more people than he attracts. I agree with the shock jock comparison. Lee had general appeal and ability. Such a shame we lost the opportunity to have an economist running the economy.

If he has any sense, he'll go without prompting.

This is too big a disaster.

However he spins it, it was his fault, either for taking Lee on in the first place or for not being able to manage him.

Kenny has to go. Bertie in April 2008 had the sense to know that his time was coming up and left and this was just 11 months after he led the party to the third victory.

Lets start off with Plus sides of Kenny: Since 2002 he has brought the party back from ruin and led the to a stronger position. Plus hes a decent man.

BUT- There comes a time when you have to say that his work has reached its conclusion. Guys Enda should have resigned the day after the 2007 election and let the party go forward.

George Lee will be on the Frontline. This will be interesting. I'm getting the beers into the fridge.
