Perhaps you misinterpret the intent of my post. In quoting the radio contributor, I was not supporting his demonstration proposal, rather using it as an indicator of the lack of performance by FG in opposition. Sorry if I was not clear.

I suggest you propose a referendum to insert a clause in the constitution to allow for recall elections then because our current one gives every Dáil up to a 5 year term and that's it.

So there should be an election every time a majority in an opinion poll appears to want one?

When it coincides with economic collapse as a result of the governments inepitude it is immoral not too. FF failed us as badly as it is possible to fail. They should doff their caps and shuffle shamefaced into the night.

There should be an election every time a sitting government and its constituent members are shown to have renaged on commitments, bankrupted the country and failed in their policies.

David McWilliams is tweeting about George Lee's resignation:

G Lee's resignation tells us all we need to know about traditional politics. Those blackening him on radio today are part of the problem.

He is exposing pathetic nature of Dail.more interested in grubby politics, promoting "team" players rather than those who can change things

all i am saying re GLee is that it reflects on the inertia. Its like signing Rooney and not playing him! Who wd go to it now - bar sleeveens

i think it is a disaster for all but I know G, he is a brilliant mind, decent man also. not a narcissist. could've changed things

Kenny, I will have nothing to do with Sinn Fein, because, of their republicanism, this man gave the oration at Beal na Blaith a few years ago,and now could not find a job for one of the best economist in the country

    Big Surprise - No Surprise

GL obviously thought that by throwing in his lot with FG his star would shine

    - but he found out that in politics the road to the top is a long days journey into night

    - with all too often a trapdoor at the end.

IMO he was too hasty but maybe he realised that he was going round in circles and that was all there was ever going to be until the next GE.

Major screwup by Kenny now that the Milky Bar Kid has shot him in the back.

I wonder how long now before the Kardboard Kid himself rides off into the sunset...
