Kenny comes across as an opportunist who offered Lee a job at the last moment last week. Whatever you say about Kenny, I've always assumed he was straight. Last minute job offers are not straight.

FG in general come across as a closed clique unwilling to accept new blood.

And all the while FF are up in the polls and sitting back watching the carnage at FG. They will probably win the next election.

Incredibly, I think I am more depressed about the country than I was going to bed last night. I would not have thought that possible, but here we are.
Kenny and FG should come out and say the Lee was an egoist and didn't understand that winning a by-election doesn't entitle you to be Minister for Finance.

I was probably going to to vote for FG in the next GE, and probably still will, but the vote would be nailed on if they came named this fool for the petulant charlatan that he is.

Do you really think that FG's performance in the Euro/Locals was all down to Kenny and had nothing to do with the incumbent government?

No party in the Western hemisphere will touch George Lee now. Thankfully.

I never heard such crap. If he was happy with FG's economic policy despite little of his own input he would have stayed. If he was unhappy with it with little of his own input he'd have left - so he did.

Bottom line is that one of our most astute economic minds has dumped FG because he thinks their economic policy is either bad or wrong. What a particular kick in the goolies this is for Bruton.

Worst government in living memory. An economy banjaxed. A bunch of corrupt politicians. And the useless gobsh*te Kenny hasn't taken them out. At least Noonan would have done something instead of waiting for his turn to be taoiseach.

Lee's ability is incessantly referred to. What is it? He has a history of careerist job-hopping. Is it that?

How do you "take out" a government that is wedded together out of desperation?

Well you get off the stage!

What has he ever said or done?

Is only contribution to the current economic debate has been to suggest a reduction in Stamp Duty.

He's a gobsh1te, who can now never work in current affairs ever again!

    Hah!

Lee may have lost all credibility with FG members, but he will still have a huge amount of credibility with non members, and the ordinary Joe's and Josephines who FG need to vote for them in the next election.

To them, it sounds like FG don't bother listening to people unless they have served their time. That will hurt FG
To counter that though, Leo Varadkar was on the Front Bench and in a senior position on it, on basically his first day in the Dail, so that clearly isn't it or at least not the full story.
